You and kingscrusher are my favourite chess authors on YT. :)
I'd like to just say thanks for doing this, and also make a request for more live blitz. Although they arent as instructive as tournament or opening videos, they are certainly more entertaining. Your commentary is also great, i like your sense of humor :) Also if possible, i'd like to see more from your games/tournament collection. Thanks again Matt :) |

Thanks for all your support guys. Over the past year I've gone from 1870 to 2011. This is unusual for someone who essentially gave up the game for 4 years. I probably couldn't have done it without my subscribers as you guys gave me the motivation to set and then meet my goal of becoming an Expert.
Based on the experiences of others it would probably take me another 2 years of serious chess playing to reach Master level. They say the 50 points from 2150 to 2200 are the hardest in chess. In order to be playing at that strength consistently you'd have to be able to beat a titled player 25% of the time! I've never beaten a titled player although I did draw an IM once. (I have beaten an NM and an SM but ... if it doesn't require norms it's not a real title. Also I beat an IM on the internet but that doesn't mean anything) So there is clearly another level of my game yet to reach before I can even think about sniffing 2200. |
