I was a software guy in Silicon Valley for 22 years. I actually got paid to play with robots. I haven't decided whether I am retired or not. Before the software gigs, I taught mathematics at the college level. And before that I was a disk jockey and later a newsman in Austin, Texas. Before that, I was a hunter/gatherer specializing in mastodons and saber tooth tigers on the tundra. I paint in oils. I frequently have been observed playing saxophone in beer joints.
