artiranmor is from Germany. I wonder what their culture is like today. I used to listen to a music show on the radio in Houston called Musical Trot with Lisalotte, and she would play only older songs from there. They were some real happy songs, great for a party. If you look at my channel at my subs., you will find some other channels with some of this great old music.

MUNDORAINBOW is from Spain. That channel is very colorful and the videos there are very good. I like some of the music on that channel very much. I would like to know more about what Spain is like today. I think it is a beautiful place from the pictures I see.

I had the chance to visit jordan for one week last year - i was charmed by the friendliness of the people, the amazing landscape and the old culture. I only had been in Wadi Rum and Petra and had not the chance to visit Amman or the northern parts of Jordan.

I also have big respect for the role the hashemitic royal house is playing in the peace - process in the middle - east.

I am sure to come back again.

Somehow your reply reminded me of something I read eons ago, so I just had to dust off that old book. Akif Pirinçci, an author from Istanbul, wrote a book called Felidae about a cat who was influenced by Schopenhauer.

It was a very fascinating book and I was interested a bit on what that Schophauer stuff was about. I liked some stuff, but he was also a racist, male chauvinist women hater who ironically loved animals (weird!). The irony is that the cat in the novel was like Schopenhauer because he ran away when his master fell in love and the witch started to redecorate the house much to the dismay of the cat of the house.

I can't say I read any one Kitten. I just dip into this and that every once in a damn long while. I think you can't absorb much anyway, specially when dealing with philosophy. I like Heidegger, Foucault, Derrida, and Nietzsche. Ask me what I know and I will struggle to bring up anything substantial. Only keywords, major ideas. I can talk about dialectics, existentialism, some post-structuralism, not much more. It isn't my profession. Its just a personal erratic, discursive fixation.

I am still here, but thanks Dee. I think you mean polemical posts Kitten. To pose a contention is the dialectic of knowledge where you agree with most and disagree with some and of course you explain why. What ever it may be, I mean the positive aspect of contention. I think the very meaning of the word implies agreement, albeit partial, and not rejection.

UssnThem. This forum is finally turning into a loving zone and you are not satisfied? I guess that for a person who doesn't like to read, you read too much Nietschze.

Actually contentious postings are great if they are constructive, because then they create a torrent of confusion with each person often trying to deny that actually learned something from the initial posting. Sadly most contentious postings are based on malice and are merely to intented as food for the hobgoblins. (Yes, the first time I used that word. See I learned something after all)
