I'm a philosopher (A real one born of reason and objectivism)

What counts alone is the innovator, the dissenter, the harbinger of things unheard of, the man who rejects the traditional standards and aims at substituting new values and ideas for old ones.---- Ludwig von Mises

"I am only wise insofar as that what I don't know, I don't pretend to know"
-The immortal Socrates, Philosopher (c. 470 BCE--399 BCE)

The penalty that good men pay for not being interested in politics is to be governed by men worse than themselves. Plato, philosopher(427-347BCE)

"The high minded man must care more for the truth than for what people think."
-- Aristotle, philosopher (384-322 BCE)

"Truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it."
-- Flannery O'Connor, writer (1925-1964)

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
-- Voltaire, philosopher (1694-1778)

"The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he
resigns momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself."
-- Archibald MacLeish, poet and librarian (1892-1982)

"One of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the great struggle for independence."
-- Charles A. Beard, historian (1874-1948)

"Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it."
- Mark Twain, author and humorist (1835-1910)

"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." - Aldous Huxley, novelist (1894-1963)

"The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children."
- Dietrich Bonhoeffer, theologian (1906-1945)

"It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets."
-- Voltaire, philosopher (1694-1778)

"Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels--men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, we may never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion."
- Dwight D. Eisenhower, May 31, 1954

"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against its government."
- Edward Abbey, naturalist and author (1927-1989)

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing." - Albert Einstein

"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors." --Plato

It's the movies that have really been running things in America ever since they were invented. They show you what to do, how to do it, when to do it, how to feel about it, and how to look how you feel about it. Everybody has their own America, and then they have the pieces of a fantasy America that they think is out there but they can't see. Andy Warhol

Thomas Jefferson (1743--1826)
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

"If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth--certainly the machine will wear out... but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter-friction to stop the machine. What I have to do is to see, at any rate, that I do not lend myself to the wrong which I condemn." -Henry Thoreau, Civil Disobedience, 1849

It is perfectly possible for a man to b out of prison, and yet not b free-to b under no physical constraint and yet to b a psychological captive, compelled to think, feel and act as the representatives of the national state, or of some private insterest within the nation, wants him to think feel and act...the nature of the psychological compulsion is that those who act under constraint remain under the impression that they are acting on their own initiative. The victim of mind-manipulation does not know that he is a victim. To him the walls of his prison are invisible, and he believes himself to b free. That he is not free is apparent only to other people. His servitude is strictly objective
-Aldous Huxley(Brave New World Revisited)

Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, i should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.
Thomas Jefferson, 1787

It's funny how silver is dropping in the markets lately yet it's hard to find any local dealers that aren't sold out of it.
what is providing the steam/ what are you burning?
Since it doesn't come out for a week, does that mean that you think we, as in, existing in society, will be safe from oh say... Anarchy? Martial law? Starvation? Riots and gangs? Etc...? Until then? Thanks for all your knowledge.
If you ask doctor Paul, he will tell you himself that the kind of people you are after comprise less than %15 percent of the population. Right now, I think reality is telling us all to shrug the burden of that other %85 off our shoulders... Basically, sit back and watch the fireworks
Anyone like to see Obama should fire Biden for sticking all those damn earmarks in the plan and then ask Paul to be the VP.?

"...Do you permit any communication with the outside world?"
"No."
"Not any? Not even a note without return address?"
"No."
"Not even a message, if no secret of yours were given away?"
"Not from here. Not during this month. Not to outsiders at any time."
She noticed that she was avoiding his eyes, and she forced herself to lift her head and face him. His glance had changed; it was watchful, unmoving, implacably perceptive. He asked, looking at her as if he knew the reason for her query, "Do you wish to ask for a special exception?"
"No," she answered, holding his glance.

Excerpt from an essay I wrote: "...Michelangelo was altogether 'different'. Michelangelo was the like a broken link in the chain that spans human history. A link that was tarnished, worn, and dirty. A chain, that was wrapped around a human neck just as well as it was a representation of that human. Rebirth? Rebirth means 'different'. Michelangelo 'was' different. Michelangelo broke that chain, and Michelangelo made a new one; a chain that was not dirty or tarnished, nor wrapped around a human's neck, rather, Michelangelo forged a chain of magnificence; of the finest polished marble; A marble so fine, of such quality and luster, that he brought it to life."

It is the summary/conclusion of a comparison between Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Thought I'd share and kick some of the accumulated dust of the comments section.
