I just wanted to clear up that whole "just trying to be an ass" thing. I didn't mean to say he was but it would seem that the intention may be. I didn't mean that this person was anything other then such. I merely meant the comment was trying to portray that of his character, which I am sure it wouldn't.

But I do agree with the other things you said. But I believe that a generation or two after me will end that. After all this is the age of information what with the internet. If you look at all the achievements you'll see it's more than doubled in the last 1000 years. It resembles that of a golden ruler, almost. It's so uncanny. But to quote the movie pi "graph any number system and patterns emerge."

Xteaphn, don't you think the "trying to be an ass" remark is a little hypocritical? Despite that, you have a point. Its always a good idea to raise our standards and take the moral high ground.

Right now, there are lots of people who are just ignorant of science and have very weak critical thinking skills. Our goal should be to educate these people. While it might be impossible for some of the fundamentalists, why not treat everyone as a potential free thinker?

While it might make sense to ridicule the ridiculous, it is almost never the people themselves that deserve the scorn, but their beliefs and the ways of thinking that lead to them.

To borrow a phrase from Christianity: hate the sin, not the sinner.

show God is real. All his stuff has either
been refuted, countered, or flat debunked
and left wanting, like the Kalam Argument.

None of his arguments, even if they
were worth anything, would prove God,
because there is no reason to take what
said argument indicates, and automatically
invoke God as the default conclusion.

That is a false dilemma, and biased trick!

I'm really enjoying the discussion. You are definitely one of the more intelligent theists I've spoken with. You have presented some interesting challenges, though I think it would take much more to get me to convert to Christianity.
