TIPPY

(...in honor of a barn cat who came for supper and never left, 1998-2005...)

Upon a winter's day you came and sat
Down on my porch, a small gray silent cat
For shelter from the wind and for the food
You found me in a most disgruntled mood.
Back to the barn! To eat with all the fine barn cats!
Then home I went... and on my porch again you sat
The family bet who'd win and who would lose
Declared ten days the most I could hold out
Along about the time they said I'd have to choose
Within my house beside the fire you sat
A soft and warm loud purring small gray cat

As days grew long, your stomach larger grew
And slowly but with certainty I knew
That you grew large with kits and kits you had!
All three! Upon my comfy bed with me!

You went with me wherever I would go
Underfoot and graceful, frolicked to and fro
Always attentive and protecting me
From loneliness and things I could not see.
If seven years of love could keep you here at home
You'd stay, but on another winter's day you left alone
Into a vast and solitary night you walked, then sat
A stilled and silent most beloved small gray cat

I've had several questions about why I took down the BEST ORIGINAL MUSICIANS listing that's been on my channel all year. The ***only*** reason it got taken down was because ... get this ... YouTube informed me that this section was "too long," which means it had too much text in it. I was therefore faced with a choice ... to either remove some musicians' names ... or ... to not add any more musicians' names. Neither option was acceptable. If you have any suggestions or know of a way that I can continue to publicly maintain this list on my channel, please PM and let me know what to do! I already wrote YT but, of course, you don't ever get a reply from them. So sorry guys, but until I can resolve this issue, I'll just have to continue keeping the list privately. I live in the Appalachian Mountains in a very rugged and isolated area called the Blue Ridge. It is beautiful and quietly majestic here with only the sounds of the creek, the birds and the wind for company. It's perfect.
