Coming out must be an emotionally draining event for many people but they should understand, while we understand that, it isn't the most dramatic event in others' lives.

I liked that you didn't make a drama of it. And there are pros and cons to coming out. Do we really have to wear our sexuality on our sleeves?

There are areas of all our lives that are private and I think our sexual life is one of them. I think that one should only come out if there is an obvious plus to be gained from doing so.

(Fundamentally, the real problem is the obsession with sex in the Judeo-Christian culture in which Westerners live. This isn't the case in some other cultures e.g. Buddhist. Of course it's a tall order to aspire to changing ingrained cultural attitudes.)
